Mountain bike and road bike trails

The territory of Montaione encloses a historical, artistic and environmental heritage of great interest, that you can explore on foot or on your bike, away from mass tourism and travelling as much as possible on roads with little traffic or unpaved, choosing between gravel roads or trails in the woods.

You can find over 160 km of mountain bike trails and hundreds of miles of scenic roads with little traffic for the racing bike, which crossing the territory of Montaione will take you to visit the nearby towns and Medieval villages of San Gimignano, Volterra, San Miniato , Peccioli, Legoli and Certaldo getting you to know the area of the Tuscan countryside and its morphological differences.

The itineraries proposed by RideMontaione.com are only a part of those you can travel throughout the territory and offer different levels of difficulty from easy and undemanding, to those characterized by more technical sections for specialists in the single trail and downhill. However it is always a good idea to have a fair degree of fitness and good physical condition, an inclination to ride even in very steep sections in addiction to a good equipment.

If you are more demanding and looking for thrills, take a look at our guided tours. Our specialised guides, who know the territory perfectly, will be able to help you experience the unique and unforgettable adventures that Tuscany has to offer, showing you all the historic and scenic treasures that you will encounter along the way.

It is always a good idea to have a decent level of fitness and be in good physical condition, ready to ride even in very steep sections as well as good equipment. If you can’t or don’t want to bring your own, you can rent equipment through our bike rental service.
